This week’s newsletter goes in a slightly different direction. If you've recently joined the ranks of the sleep-deprived, but inexplicably joyous: congratulations. You're a parent! But while you're marveling at tiny fingers and toes, that nagging voice in the back of your head (the one that used to whisper about deadlines and promotions) is now screaming about how you're going to maintain any semblance of productivity with a screaming infant dictating your schedule. The good news? You can do both. The bad news? It's going to take more than just strong cups of coffee. First, accept that "balance" is a myth. Some days, work wins. Some days, the baby acts like a tiny dictator and your inbox explodes. The key is to prioritize ruthlessly. Identify your non-negotiables at work and at home: 8:00 AM meeting? Non-negotiable. Baby's bath? Also non-negotiable. Everything else is just noise. Learn to delegate, automate, and outsource like your life depends on it (because, in a way, it does). Next, schedule everything. And we mean everything. Blocks for focused work, feeding times, and even those precious 15-minute naps that feel like a vacation. This might seem rigid, but trust us, structure is your new best friend. It's the only way to carve out pockets of productivity amidst the chaos. And don't forget to build in buffer time, because babies rarely adhere to a schedule. Finally, embrace the power of "good enough”. Your house may not be spotless, your meals may be microwaved, sometimes, and your emails may contain the occasional typo. That's okay. You're building a human being here, which, let's face it, is a far more impressive feat than closing that deal. So cut yourself some slack, celebrate the small wins, and remember, this stage is temporary. Soon enough, they'll be teenagers, and you'll be longing for these days. Have a great week!
